Saquib Rizvi Memorial Cancer Awareness Marathon (SRMCAM): A Step Towards Cancer Awareness

The Saquib Rizvi Memorial Cancer Awareness Marathon (SRMCAM) is the brainchild of Adv. (Mrs.) Rubina Akhtar Hasan Rizvi, a visionary known for her relentless efforts in promoting health and well-being within the community. This marathon is a part of her larger mission to create awareness about cancer, a disease that affects millions globally but can often be prevented or managed with early detection and education.

The marathon brings together people from all walks of life to unite for a common cause – raising awareness about cancer, promoting healthy lifestyles, and supporting those affected by the disease. SRMCAM is not just a physical event but also a movement that highlights the importance of cancer screening, education, and support systems for those battling the disease.

Participation from Rizvi Education Society

The involvement of Rizvi Education Society has been a pivotal element in making SRMCAM a grand success. Over 289 students and 90 teaching and non-teaching staff participated, reflecting the institution’s commitment to social causes under the inspiring leadership of Adv. (Mrs.) Rubina Akhtar Hasan Rizvi. Their enthusiasm was matched by the support of 150 students and 49 teaching and non-teaching staff from the college, ensuring widespread participation and community involvement

Vaccination Drives: A Vital Health Initiative

In line with promoting health and preventing illness, Adv. (Mrs.) Rubina Akhtar Hasan Rizvi also spearheaded multiple free vaccination drives for students and staff who had been left out. These drives, held in association with MCGM and BMC, took place on various dates—30th October 2021, 24th and 29th January 2022, and 12th February 2022. A total of 363 students and staff were vaccinated in October, 242 in January, and 198 in February, underscoring her dedication to safeguarding the health of the community during critical times.

The SRMCAM, along with the associated health initiatives, represents a holistic approach to wellness. Adv. (Mrs.) Rubina Akhtar Hasan Rizvi's efforts emphasize the importance of not just awareness but also action, ensuring that people have the resources they need to prevent diseases, such as cancer, and live healthier lives.
