Over the past five years, Adv. (Mrs.) Rubina Akhtar Hasan Rizvi, in collaboration with Sai Hospital, Benz Hospital, Medicover Hospital, Healium Camp, Rotary Club, and other medical partners, has spearheaded a series of impactful Breast Cancer Screening and Awareness Drives. These initiatives have provided essential screenings and educational resources to thousands of underprivileged women, particularly those who lack access to regular medical care.
Breast cancer remains one of the most common and deadly forms of cancer among women, but early detection dramatically increases survival rates. Aware of the social and cultural hesitations women often face, especially in underprivileged communities, the organizers adopted a unique “No touch - No see - No pain” approach. This method ensures that women feel comfortable during the screening process, encouraging broader participation. Alongside traditional physical breast examinations, this sensitive approach has helped to overcome the barriers many women face regarding personal health checks.
Through these drives, Adv. (Mrs.) Rizvi's team has reached over 5000 individuals. Thousands of women have undergone life-saving breast cancer screenings, and many have benefited from expert-led seminars and discussions with renowned oncosurgeons. These talks not only address the medical aspects of breast cancer but also emphasize the importance of self-awareness and early detection.
Some key groups that participated in these drives include:
- ● 150 students and 49 teaching/non-teaching staff members from local colleges.
- ● 289 students and 90 teaching/non-teaching staff from the Rizvi Education Society.
These initiatives have had a far-reaching impact, with multiple events over the years aiming to educate communities, increase awareness, and offer support to those in need.
Beyond the medical aspect, these drives represent a broader effort to empower women in the community with the knowledge and tools to take control of their health. The consistent partnership with hospitals and organizations like the Rotary Club has helped create a sustainable model for health awareness that reaches deep into underserved populations.
Adv. (Mrs.) Rubina Akhtar Hasan Rizvi’s commitment to this cause reflects her ongoing dedication to improving public health and well-being. This Breast Cancer Awareness campaign is a shining example of how targeted, compassionate initiatives can make a profound difference in the lives of thousands.
